आजाद अधिकार सेना के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष अमिताभ ठाकुर ने उत्तर प्रदेश के दो विधायकों पर विधायक निधि से विकास कार्यों की अनुशंसा के बदले कथित रूप से भारी कमीशन मांगने और एक मामले में नकद धनराशि लेने के आरोपों को अत्यंत गंभीर बताते हुए सतर्कता अधिष्ठान, उत्तर प्रदेश में शिकायत भेजी है।
एक प्रमुख समाचार माध्यम की दिनांक 4 सितंबर 2026 की स्टिंग जांच में महराजगंज सदर के भाजपा विधायक जय मंगल कन्नौजिया तथा मेंहनगर, आजमगढ़ की सपा विधायक पूजा सरोज के संबंध में ये गंभीर आरोप सामने आए हैं।
रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, जय मंगल कन्नौजिया के मामले में ₹10.50 लाख के सोलर लाइट कार्य के लिए 35% कमीशन की कथित मांग की गई और संवाददाता से कुल ₹83,500 नकद लिए जाने के बाद अनुशंसा-पत्र जारी किया गया।
पूजा सरोज के मामले में रिपोर्ट में 35% कमीशन तथा ₹5 लाख अग्रिम की कथित मांग और बाद में ₹81 लाख के चार अनुशंसा-पत्र भेजे जाने का उल्लेख है। उनके प्रतिनिधि द्वारा धनराशि लिए जाने का भी आरोप है।
अमिताभ ठाकुर ने विजिलेंस से उपलब्ध सत्यापन योग्य गंभीर सामग्री की तत्काल, समयबद्ध एवं स्वतंत्र जांच कराए जाने तथा अपराध प्रथमदृष्टया प्रमाणित होने पर एफआईआर दर्ज कर विधिक कार्रवाई किए जाने की मांग की है।
शिकायत की एक प्रति उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा के अध्यक्ष को भी भेजी गई है।
MLAs allegedly demanded 35% Commission in MLA Fund: Vigilance Probe sought
Amitabh Thakur, President of Azad Adhikar Sena, has lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Establishment, Uttar Pradesh, describing as extremely serious the allegations that two Uttar Pradesh MLAs allegedly demanded substantial commissions in exchange for recommending development works from their MLA funds, with cash allegedly accepted in one case.
A sting investigation published by a prominent news organisation on 4 September 2026 has made these serious allegations against BJP MLA Jai Mangal Kanojia of Maharajganj Sadar and Samajwadi Party MLA Pooja Saroj of Mehnagar, Azamgarh.
According to the report, in the case of Jai Mangal Kanojia, a 35% commission was allegedly demanded for a ₹10.50 lakh solar-light project, and ₹83,500 in cash was allegedly received from the reporter before the recommendation letter was issued.
In the case of Pooja Saroj, the report alleges a demand for 35% commission and ₹5 lakh as advance, followed by the sending of four recommendation letters involving ₹81 lakh. Her representative is also alleged to have received money.
Amitabh Thakur has demanded from the Vigilance Establishment an immediate, time-bound and independent investigation of the serious, verifiable material available, and registration of an FIR and appropriate legal action if the allegations are prima facie established.
A copy of the complaint has been sent to the Speaker of UP Vidhan Sabha.
