विधायक निधि के कार्यों की अनुशंसा के बदले कथित कमीशन/रिश्वत के सम्बन्ध में सामने आये स्टिंग के आधार पर आजाद अधिकार सेना के अध्यक्ष एवं पूर्व आईपीएस अधिकारी अमिताभ ठाकुर की शिकायत पर एक महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य सामने आया है।
स्टिंग में महराजगंज सदर के भाजपा विधायक जय मंगल कन्नौजिया और आजमगढ़ की मेंहनगर सीट की सपा विधायक पूजा सरोज पर विधायक निधि से विकास कार्यों की अनुशंसा के बदले 35 प्रतिशत तक कमीशन मांगने के आरोप सामने आए थे।
उत्तर प्रदेश विजिलेंस अधिष्ठान ने 29 सितंबर 2026 की अपनी रिपोर्ट में कहा है कि उक्त प्रकरण में अभियोग पंजीकृत होकर जनपदीय पुलिस द्वारा अन्वेषण वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के पर्यवेक्षणाधीन” किया जा रहा है। विजिलेंस ने इसी आधार पर अलग से सतर्कता जांच का औचित्य नहीं माना और कहा है कि संबंधित समस्त साक्ष्य उसी अभियोग की विवेचना में शामिल किए जाएं।
रिपोर्ट में FIR/केस क्राइम नंबर, थाना, धाराएं, अभियुक्तों अथवा विवेचक का विवरण नहीं दिया गया है।
इस नए तथ्य के बाद अमिताभ ठाकुर ने आज डीजीपी, उत्तर प्रदेश और निदेशक, विजिलेंस को पत्र भेजकर उस अभियोग की पूरी जानकारी, FIR/केस क्राइम नंबर, थाना, धाराएं, अभियुक्त एवं विवेचक, तत्काल स्पष्ट करने की मांग की है।
साथ ही उन्होंने स्टिंग के मूल वीडियो/रिकॉर्डिंग, बातचीत, कथित नकद लेन-देन तथा अनुशंसा-पत्रों सहित सभी उपलब्ध साक्ष्यों को उक्त अभियोग की विवेचना में विधिवत शामिल कर उनकी स्वतंत्र एवं प्रभावी जांच सुनिश्चित की जाए।
FIR Registered in MLA Fund Sting — Vigilance
A significant development has emerged on the basis of the complaint filed by Amitabh Thakur, President of Azad Adhikar Sena and former IPS officer, regarding the sting operation concerning alleged commission/bribe demands in connection with recommendations for MLA Local Area Development works.
The sting had alleged that BJP MLA from Maharajganj Sadar, Jai Mangal Kannaujia, and SP MLA from Mehnagar constituency in Azamgarh, Pooja Saroj, had demanded commissions of up to 35% in return for recommendations for development works under MLA funds.
In its report dated 29 September 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment has stated that “an offence/case has been registered in the matter and is being investigated by the district police under the supervision of senior police officers.” Vigilance has, on this basis, found no justification for a separate Vigilance enquiry and has stated that all relevant evidence should be incorporated into the investigation of that case.
The report, however, does not disclose the FIR/Case Crime number, police station, sections, accused persons or Investigating Officer.
In view of this new development, Amitabh Thakur today wrote to the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, and the Director, Vigilance, seeking the complete particulars of the said case — FIR/Case Crime number, police station, sections, accused persons and Investigating Officer.
He has also sought directions to ensure that the original sting video/recordings, conversations, alleged cash transactions and recommendation letters, along with all other available evidence, are duly incorporated into the investigation and effectively investigated.
